This training program has been approved by the Maryland State Department of Education for Core of
Knowledge Hours.

Office of Child Care Medication Administration Training-6 Hour Course “MAT”:  The Office of Child Care requires this course this six-hour training. Because medication can only be administered to a child in care by an individual who has completed the approved training, all programs must have at least one person Medication Administration trained person on-site.  Through this course, learn to administer medications, store them properly, and accurately complete record keeping. Participants are required to pass the post-exam and skills check.  Core Of Knowledge (COK) Hours: 6 (Health, Safety & Nutrition).  $60.00 Per Participant When Hosted by A Program/$65 Community Classes.

Asthma, Allergy, and Anaphylaxis Prevention & Management Training for Early Education Program Staff​: Upon the successful completion of the training, the participants demonstrate proficiency in knowledge and skills to ensure Asthma and Allergy safe (Trigger free) child care environment, identify and manage Asthma and Allergy emergencies and prevent triggers as per child’s treatment/action plan and OCC COMAR requirements. Only one employee per center is required to obtain Allergy and Asthma Friendly designation with Maryland Excels.
Core of Knowledge (COK) Hours:  4 Health, Safety and Nutrition).  $40.00 Per Participant When Hosted by A Program/$45 Community Classes.

Policies

  • Minimum Participants: 15 per class. If the minimum is not met, The Child Care Company will help advertise to enroll participants from other local programs.
  • Registration:
    • No refunds, exchanges, or swapping of classes.
    • Late participants (10 minutes or more) will be denied entry and will not receive a certificate or refund. 
  • Materials: Please bring a lunch and pen or pencil.
  • Hybrid Courses: 
    • Cameras must remain on for the duration of the zoom lecture. 
    • Students are not permitted to be driving, caring for children, or otherwise distracted during the zoom session. 
  • Certificates:
    • Awarded to participants who attend the full class and pass the written exam.
    • Students will leave with their certificate in hand.
    • Replacement certificates cost $5 each.
